Grey has been rescued from her abusive brother by two men she has never met.  When they come back they take her to a man who promises her he will take care of her and keep her safe, but Grey hears and sees something she should not have and is now in danger herself.  She knows she has to escape or she will be the girl in the room, like the girl she heard and then seen what was being done to her.  She doesn't want to be that girl.  One of the men that rescued her does help her but now she's on the run and doing her best to be invisible.

Thane watches her.  He knows she's trying to be invisible, but she's not very good at it.  She doesn't even know he's watching her or that someone else is watching her.  Keeping vigil, he sees the killer enter her apartment building.  He knows if he doesn't do something, she will end up dead and this will all be for nothing.  When he ends up getting shot, by Grey, he must pretend to need her help recovering and ends up staying at her apartment.  All the while keeping his cover.

When he finds out that Grey isn't who she was thought to be, Thane must then try and find out why she is running from the man who has turned Thane's world upside down.  Thane has a personal stake in finding this man, because this man took his sister and nothing is going to stop Thane from finding her.

This story has so much emotion.  There is love, betrayal, secrets, grief and more intrigue to add to the equation.  Thane and Grey both have baggage that they are trying to keep from one another.  This only makes you want to keep reading to see where this will take them and if it will take them where they find the answers to all the secrets they share.
