This was my first book by Lila Rose. Coming out is a book about Julian and Mattie. Mattie is keeping his sexual preference a secret from his friends and family. Julian is out but also keeping a secret from his friends about his family.
Mattie is on the football team at his school when he meets Julian the team masseur. Instantly Mattie feels attracted to Julian but Julian just thinks he is making fun of him because he is gay.
Mattie is shy and has not been with anyone yet. He has very supportive parents but is afraid to come out.
Until he meets Julian.
Julian is 36 years old and is out but also living a lie. His neighbor Melissa is the only one who knows what is troubling him.
When Julian and Mattie get together at school for their treatments they hide their feelings from each other until they meet in a bar one night while Julian is picking up someone.
"What are you doing?" Mattie
"What do you mean?" Julian
"He means. why did you interrupt their little…
He opened his mouth , closed it, only to open it again to say,
"He shouldn't want to..get with married men - Mattie
"Why do you care what I do? Julian
"I shouldn't " Mattie
He shouldn't what? Care? My heart thumped,smiled and screamed : he cared- Julian
This is a fast paced book with secrets from the past and about learning to be the real you. Mattie and Julian are the perfect match despite their age difference and when the young Mattie gets all alpha male he will make your heart thump.
This will not be my last book by Lila Rose. I gave it 4 stars due to the length not the content
