Not Looking For Love: Episode 1

Genre: New Adult Romance, Sexy romance
Length: 190 pages

A no-strings fling is what she wants…but is that what she needs?

At 22, Gail’s losing her mom to cancer…with only a week to live. Every second of every minute, Gail hopes the doctors are wrong. Then she loses the bracelet her mother gave her. On the edge, she jumps into the pool to find it. Something grabs her waist and flips her over in the water. It’s Scott, the neighbors’ gardener, trying to save her.

The sight of Scott’s wet t-shirt plastered against the rippling muscles of his shoulders and chest gets Gail fantasizing about this Adonis. It’s easier to get lost in a fantasy of raw passion than hope for anything at all.

With more regrets than he can ever hope to live with…Scott’s trying to get his life together. The last thing he needs is a crazy rich girl who keeps throwing herself at him. But he knows something’s wrong from the sad, lost look in her beautiful eyes.

Is this relationship finished before it ever truly begins? Or in their darkest moment… can Gail and Scott give each other hope?

Genre: New Adult Romance
This story unfolds over multiple episodes of around 150 pages each.
~Not Looking For Love Episodes 1-7 are available now.~

REVIEW:
****4 stars****

Gail is spiraling out of control. She is 22 and her mother is dying for lung cancer. Her mom only has a few weeks left to live. Grief is consuming Gail.

Drowning in pain, Gail decides she needs a distraction, something to make her feel anything. She sets her sights on her friend Kate’s gardener. He is gorgeous and looks like he could be into a one-night stand.

Throwing herself at a guy is not something Gail would normally do. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know what normal is anymore.

Scott is attracted to Gail but he doesn’t want to be. Gail doesn’t seem to be functioning normally so he should just avoid her; he just can’t seem to help himself though.

He understands her grief and wants to help her.

This was a really tragic start to this series. People all deal with grief in their own way. Gail can’t seem to get a grip on reality. It’s too bad because she is such a sweet person. Scott seems like a good guy but I think there is a lot more to him that we have yet to find out.

I enjoyed reading this first episode and I can’t wait to read on to see what happens next.

Not Looking for Love: Episode 2

*** This book was originally released as Not Looking for Love: Episode 3. It continues the story started in Episode 1 and is not intended to be read as a standalone.***

Running away is usually not the answer.

Gail is back at school, and all she wants to do is spend her days studying and not thinking about anything else. But things keep piling up until running away and burying her problems is no longer a viable option. Will Gail realize she needs to confront her feelings head on, or never be whole again? Or will she continue to deny love?

Warning: This book is intended for people 18 years and older, since it contains hot, explicit sex between consenting adults, and all the bad words associated with it.

Gail is completely shattered. Her mother has passed away and she feels like she is in darkness. She decides she needs to get away and leaves to go back to school.

Nothing in her world is normal anymore and she just survives one day at a time.

An unexpected crisis sends her spiraling and looking for comfort from Scott again.

Scott is unsure about Gail. She isn’t stable and he can’t handle her ups and downs. He doesn’t want her to run anymore. When she comes running back, he decides to slow things down and give it another go.

Gail is a bit stronger towards the end of this episode. She still has a long way to go but I think she can make it.

Scott seems to have quite a bit of demons of his own. He is falling for Gail but, unfortunately, there are things that are out of his control. He has to decide whether a relationship with Gail is what he wants.

This story is so intense. I am starting to like Gail a bit more in this book. She is just so lost it is hard to agree with some of her choices.

I can’t wait to read episode 3.

Not Looking for Love: Episode 3

*** This book was originally released as Not Looking for Love: Episode 4. It continues the story started in Episodes 1 and 2, and is not intended to be read as a standalone.***

Secrets have a way of messing everything up.

Very little made sense in Gail’s life before, and now nothing does. She’s not even sure how to begin picking up the pieces of her life, let alone start putting them back together. But perhaps things just need to get worse before they get better, right? Or wrong.

Warning: This book is intended for people 18 years and older, since it contains hot, explicit sex between consenting adults, and all the bad words associated with it.

REVIEW:
*** 3 1/2 STARS***
Scott has broken up with Gail but she is determined not to let him go. She will do anything to get him back. She is relentless.

Scott’s secrets are starting to come out in this book. We learn a lot about him and his family. He is messed up in a lot of bad stuff.

Trouble is brewing for Scott and it seems like he is in a lot of danger. Even his brother is a huge threat to him.

Scott tried to push Gail away but seemed to just give in. I find it hard to tell Scott’s true feelings at times.

I really struggled with the first half of this book. Gail is so whiny and a little pathetic. I get she loves Scott but she is just constantly nagging the poor guy. She has caused a lot of the problems, so she should not be so judgmental.

The book did get a lot better in the second half. Gail is still a bit annoying but she is getting better.

I still want to read on in the series to find out what happens.

Not Looking For Love: Episode 4
**

The time to choose has come.

Suddenly, Gail’s choice is no longer just an abstract idea rattling around her confused mind, but a concrete thing which needs to be dealt with in the real world. And for once she finds the strength to make the right choice and stick with it. But how long will her resolve last?

Warning: This book is intended for people 18 years and older, since it contains hot, explicit sex between consenting adults, and all the bad words associated with it.

****4 STARS****
We finally get to hear Scott’s side of the story. I loved that the author added his POV.

Gail is struggling to put her life back together after her attack. Nightmares plague her constantly and she can barely function.

Scott is feeling guilty about everything. He thinks it’s his fault that Mike attacked Gail and he is having a hard time dealing with it.

Gail and Scott’s relationship is even more strained now. It seems like everyone is against them no matter what they do. They do love each other put their situations and crazy start to their relationship is making everything extremely difficult.

I hope in the next episode that Gail can finally get some peace and happiness that she deserves.

Not Looking for Love: Episode 5

Happy endings happen all the time, they just don't always last.

Gail and Scott have managed to come out of their whirlwind romance relatively unscathed. But the real challenge might well prove to be the day to day one. Can they truly build something lasting on a foundation of lies, break ups and worse? Can they have a happy ending for real?

Warning: This book is intended for people 18 years and older, since it contains hot, explicit sex between consenting adults, and all the bad words associated with it.

****4 STARS****
Gail is still struggling with dealing with her brutal attack. She is having constant nightmares about Mike still.

Scott is doing his best to help Gail but he is getting quite frustrated. His family is also making impossible demands on him. He ends up leaving to try to sort everything out.

Scott is trying to protect Gail from his family but the secrets are pulling them apart. They still try to solve everything with sex but that is just not working any more.

This episode was ok. Gail is still a bit overbearing but she is still dealing with her attack. Poor Scott is really in a bind. His family is really dysfunctional and they all seem to put the blame on him.

I enjoyed this episode and I really hope that Scott can figure things out in the next episode.

Not Looking for Love: Episode 6

*** This book continues the story started in Episodes 1-5 of the Not Looking for Love serial, and is not intended to be read as a standalone.***

Is there a barrier strong enough to stop true love?

Days are long, and nights even longer when you can’t be with the one you love. But Gail is standing firm, because everything gets easier with time.
Scott is experiencing the full consequences of the bad decisions he made in the past. And it’s not right or easy. It’s just the way things have to be.

Scott is way in over his head in trouble. He is struggling to do what is right; he just doesn’t know what that is anymore.

He is struggling without Gail; but he has to remember that everything he is doing is to protect her.

Gail is trying to move on but she still loves Scott. Gail is much stronger now on her own. She has finished this semester at school and has even gone to visit her dad in Europe.

Poor Scott is put through the ringer in this book. He is barely surviving. I have come to like him a lot more through the last couple episodes. I have also started to like Gail a bit more. She is holding her own now. She is finding she can survive without Scott as difficult as it may be.

I really enjoyed this episode. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Not Looking for Love: Episode 7

*** This book continues the story started in Episodes 1-6 of the Not Looking for Love serial, and is not intended to be read as a standalone.***

Obstacles are set in out path to be overcome.

A year has passed since Gail and Scott met by the pool at dawn. Their path to love and a happily ever after has been anything but smooth. Yet just as things seem bleakest yet, a new hope emerges, one that could finally light the way to the ending they so deserve. All they have to do now is hold on.

REVIEW:

This book is definitely the best one of the series.

Gail and Scott are back together, trying to battle the odds against them. Problems that have stood in their way are now no longer obstacles.

They might actually have their chance at a HEA.

The dangerous crime ring that Scott was forced to work for because of Mike has run into problems. An unknown suspect is out to stop them. All hell breaks loose but nobody knows who caused it.

Whoever is responsible for all the chaos has made life a little easier for Scott and Gail.

Scott and Gail have both grown up so much since the start of this series. They are both stronger and smarter.

I think there is another episode to this series; at least I hope so. I would like to know what happens to everyone.

Lena Bourne is a young writer, but she has seen her fair share of the world, of love and loss, and all that happens in between. Now she’s here telling the stories you might otherwise have missed, which are made up, of course, but could very well be real and true. Not Looking For Love is a five part steamy New Adult romance serial and it is now complete and available for purchase.
