Susannah a newly qualified FBI agent is in love with her 18 year old neighbour Jasper. She only holds back from him because of the 7 year age gap. Susannah is having serious doubts about her career choice, but her first assignment is so horrific she really wants to nail the sex and human traffickers. Soon Susannah is captured, her FBI partner is nearly killed and Jasper is kidnapped as a pet, she is released and needs to find Jasper before the damage that's done runs too deep, can she save him ?
Wow, where do I start ? This is a long and really dark book not the common 'read it in one session' book! ....but if I had enough hours and didn't need to sleep I probably would have read it in one go as it was that gripping. There is a lot of non-consensual sex which I usually don't like, however the way the book is written it makes a fantastic read with so many twists and turns - I really enjoyed it. In places the drama and suspense was so intense I could feel my heart beating, the adrenaline pumping and couldn't read fast enough.
The bad characters were very well portrayed and certainly lived upto their names. Whilst I loved all the characters the only thing I couldn't get my head around and understand was Susannah's need to dominate Jasper so strongly especially after everything he has been through.
I loved that this is a standalone and that the authors didn't split this book up, it could've easily been a trilogy but it's so refreshing that it wasn't. Such a great read and not your usual run of the mill story.

BJ Grinder was born and raised in a small Tennessee town. She is the single mother of four children, three dogs and three frogs. She enjoys hiking, reading, and, of course, writing. With a life this busy, sometimes a girl needs to escape into the fantasy land offered by books.
TS McKinney lives in East Tennessee with her high school sweetheart/husband and all the countless dogs she picks up from deserted country roads.
