Author Interview

Hi Samantha, Hello ;)

Thank you for taking time to speak with us.

Can you please tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start writing?

I’m a wife and mother, pretty much like most of the authors out there. I had a fantastic career which I happily gave up for love… yeah I know don’t judge me lol.

As for the writing I have always written. I normally wrote my scribble in copy books – YES I have hundreds of them (lol), all short stories. It wasn’t until January of 2013 that I actually put my fingers on the keyboard. As for what inspired me… It was a promise to my dad to do something with my writing.

You have a New release out called Dragonflies- The Rizzo Protocol, Can you tell us a little about it?

Rizzo is one of the characters from the first book of the series. In short I would say friendship… what would you do for a friend? Which seems to be the continuous theme? Here we have a older Rizzo from when we first met her. Due to Duncan taking time off, Rizzo finds herself thrown into the deep end at work.
In this book, we find out more, in fact lots more about Rizzo and what she gave up to do what she saw… as the right thing to do at the time.

How do you come up with your ideas?

I normally have a rough out-line of what I want to do. But being very honest I let the characters have a freehand as long as we head in the same direction…. Now I sound like a nutter. Lol. Most of the ideas are either from my own experiences or my lovely friends/muses lives.

Are the character names in your book important to you?
Yes… Very, only because I see them as friends so they are very real to me… I think names go with peoples personalities so I try to choose the right ones to match them.

Whats your favorite quote from Dragonflies - The Rizzo Protocol?

Ohh I have a few but if I have to pick one then this one…
To this day Fergal would swear that he saw a mushroom cloud appear in her eyes after that comment and his accompanied look as Rizzo went into full atomic overdrive, with a tirade of abusive and vulgar comments before stomping towards the living room snarling…
“I hope… you hear… every moan I make because of Rickard.”

Are you currently working on any new projects?

Yes… I’m working on the last DRAGONFLIES book… ‘The Cousins’.

What are you reading now?

Hangs head in shame… Nothing… I don’t read the norm, I’m a huge History Nerd. I ALWAYS have a Titanic book by my bed, or something on Queen Victoria and her children.

If you could write with any other author who would it be and why?

Easy… Clive Cussler. The Grand Master of Adventure and why… My father I think weaned me on Cussler hahaha. All joking aside, it’s the way he writes. I fell in love with his hero ‘Dirk Pitt’ at the tender age of fourteen, I’m in my earlyesh forties and still in love with him. When Mr. Cussler writes you are there, experiencing everything with our hero’s. To be able to meet him would be a dream come true never mind write with him, plus I don’t think he would approve of my explicit sex scenes hahaha.

Favorite Song?

NOOOOooo its like asking me which is my favorite child hahahaha sorry I’m a music head… I have a top ten favorite songs of all time. Ok if I was to say a album… Ooooh Pink Floyds ‘Pulse’. It’s a live album from the 94 concert which I was lucky enough to have amazing seats for and it has all of their songs on there… sorry was the best I could do lol.

Favorite Color?

Blue… Preferably Electric or Royal Blue  or black if it comes to clothing.

Favorite Book?

Raise the Titanic by Clive Cussler

Thank you again for taking time out of your day to talk with us and we look forward to reading more work from you. :)

No… Thank you, its wonderful bloggers like yourselves that help and support US Indie Authors… without you guys we wouldn’t have the voices, so Thank you for all the hard work and effort you do behind the scenes and it was my pleasure. ;)
