Author Spotlight & Interview ~ A.G. Liam

Synopsis
Dani is determined to change. Trodden down by her abusive stepdad, neglectful mother, and nonexistent social life, Dani decides to leave it all behind—she flees into the night and finds herself in a dark, and strangely wondrous, new world, a world unknown to most humans.

However, destiny is an unpredictable force. Through a peculiar turn of events, she unknowingly gets entangled in a brutal war waging between two factions of vampires.

The Ruemisuds are a technologically advanced, elite vampire society that wants absolute control. They will stop at nothing to get it, including experimenting on unsuspecting humans and decimating the Rhowels, a clandestine, rebel clan of vampires. But the Rhowels possess a key to survival that the Ruemisuds desperately want, which they will protect until the bitter end.

Dani's riveting journey has just begun in this beautiful tale of love, hate, betrayal, and, above all, survival. The war is escalating quickly and Dani is determined to survive. Who will help her? Who will win the war?

Author Interview
Hi A.G,
Thank you for taking part in this interview!
Could you tell us a little about yourself and how you started writing?
I grew up in England and now live in California with my family. I’ve been an avid horror and paranormal fan since I can remember, reading Goosebumps when I was a child, to watching twilight zone as a teenager with my grandpa.
When I got a bit older, I used to make up stories and write them in my journal. I used to read them out loud to my family who encouraged me and gave me support. I guess that’s when my love for writing started, and I knew then that I would be continuing my passion.
How did you decide to write in this genre?
I have always wanted to write a paranormal book as I love reading books in the paranormal/ fantasy/ sci fi genre. A while back, I started wondering what it would be like if someone was just bitten and turned into a vampire—the emotions, struggles and possibly happier moments as he/she gets accustomed to this new life. This new perspective inspired me to write a story that’s really like nothing else I’ve come across.
With so many vampire books out there, Did you find it harder to write?
No, not really. I’ve done extensive research and I’ve read many vampire books and watched numerous movies, I wanted to start from scratch and breathe fresh life into this subculture. There are many new ideas that are introduced in this book. It blends the traditional vampire lore with modern concepts seamlessly. The novel takes the reader through an emotional journey, from romance and heartbreak to dread and hope.  I’ve created a unique new world unlike anything else, with fascinating characters, imaginative environments and introduced a new breed of vampires.
Where did you come with the idea for your recent release Dark Incidence?
I wanted to write a one of a kind vampire/paranormal story that takes you through the journey of two young, newly turned vampires who unknowingly get entangled in a messy war. On one side, there is a faction of vampires called the Ruemisuds who are technologically advanced, elite society that want absolute control. On the other side, there are the Rhowels, a mystical, humble clan who are fighting for their survival. The story is written in such a way that the reader goes along for an exciting ride in these unknown and dangerous new worlds and ultimately finds the truth.
Are the names of your characters important to you? How did you decide on their names?
Yes, they are important. I wanted the characters to have simple yet memorable names.
Are you currently working on any projects?
Dark Incidence II. I’m working on it now, with a much bigger story in mind. For those who finished the first one, you will not be disappointed by the twists and turns of what’s to come!
What do you do in your Free time?
I love to Paint. I enjoy painting landscapes and seascapes. I also like to listen to music and read. However, I wish I had more free time.
What are you reading?
I just finished reading “Fault in Our Stars” by John Green. Loved it!
If you could write with any author who would it be and why?
I would love to co-write a book with Anne Rice. I’m a big fan and I love her style of writing.
Favorite T.V. Show?
I have many favorites… it’s hard to choose one but at the moment it’s Penny Dreadful, True Blood and American Horror Story on FX.
Favorite Song?
Again, I have many favorites lol, but at the moment it’s “Do I wanna know” by Arctic Monkeys.

What was the hardest part of publishing your first book?
It’s very time consuming and the marketing can be challenging for indie authors.

Favorite spot to read or write?
I love to use my ipad to read, but when it comes to writing, it’s gotta be a desktop with a big monitor, a real keyboard and a soft chair. I enjoy and am most comfortable writing in my home office.
