Author Interview
Hi Nykki,
Thank you for taking part in this interview.
Let's start by having you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start writing? Hi, well, there’s not much to me, I love reading, volunteering in my kids classes, you know, basic molly homemaker crap. LOL. I started writing in general because I found Richelle Mead’s work so infuriating that I had to make myself feel better after she ripped my heart out at the end of her VA series, I, and I alone was/still not, team Dimitri, lol.
How did you come up with the idea to write Sacrificed?
I love anything paranormal. My husband and I devour horror movies, and paranormal shows. It was just a matter of time I guess, haha, nothing in particular (and everything) drove me to this story. Just my own morbid imagination
What was the hardest/easiest part of writing Sacrificed?
Oh, boy revisions kicked my a*#. The fundamental story stayed but so much changed, sometimes I cried and ate ice cream (a lot). But of the actual story it was the BOO scenes, because even though they’re not mind numbingly terrifying, what I built up in my head was, lol. Most of this book was written in the wee hours of mornings, or late at night, so it was easy to scare myself senseless.
What is your favorite quote?
“ His expression gave nothing away. “You… You think your house is haunted?”
“Not my house, me,” I whispered. Ian stood silently looking at my house for a moment. ”
What are you currently working on now?
I am working on two things, one is Cursed, Gina’s story (She see’s so many dead people—it’s up on Goodreads) and the second is my book baby. I guess it would be a paranormal romance? Anyways that is a rewrite, and all about lickable vampires.
What are you currently reading?
I just finished the New England Witch Chronicles, and I have had such a book hangover I haven’t been able to bring myself to start a new one yet.
If you could write with any author, who would it be and why??
Okay—wow, good question. I do not work well writing with others, tried and true, I’m a bit of a control freak. But ideally if I were to give it another go and pick anyone, it would be Richelle Mead, or I guess Abigail Boyd…
Thank you for agreeing to talk with us and we cant wait to read more from you :)
Thank you so much for having me! And thank you for all the wonderful support and fun, you guys! *squishyhugs* LOL.
