Author Interview
Hi Dawn,
Thank you for agreeing to take part and talk with us.
-Thank you for having me :)
For those who don't know a lot about you, can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start writing?
- Well, I'm a canadian, happily married, even though he's a huge pain in my ass. I have three little girls, Sarah(2007), Grace (2010), and Ava (2014). I'm 25 years old, I love my booze, I'm a bit odd.. but hey, my friends love me ;) . Honestly, ever since I read my first Kristen Ashley book (Until The Sun Falls From the Sky), I wanted to write. Just didn't have the guts to do it. Then after quite a few of my author friends telling me to give it a go, I jumped into into it. I work better with someone, trust me. ha, working solo, man oh man, that's a chore, don't know how people do it.
How did you choose the genre to write in?
- It's the genre i love to read, so i figured that was the best way to go :)
Can you tell us about your upcoming book Renegade Reject?
- Preach, well, let me just say, you'll love to hate him, and hate to love him. Guy is such a dickhole, but then he comes around. And Daisy, well, you'll see alot of growth from her in this book. Hope y'all are ready!!
How many books will be in the Renegade Sons MC Series?
- Well for sure we have Kidd, Preach, Timber, Reese, and Chipper.
You wrote this series with your friend Emily Minton, Can you tell us a little about your writing process?
- it's compromise. we either email or call eachother, we talk about how we would like things to play out. Basically what we do, is one writes until we have nothing left. then we send it over, again, work until we got nothing. hell, I'm horrible for jumping the gun and writing random scenes, but hey, it works, we just work it into the story when it comes up.
Do you have any plans for other series?
- Sure do, but can't very well reveal those now can I ;) You'll have to stay tuned to the series to find out who we have in store for Reese and Chipper. Timber, well, he's up next, and let's just say, he's ALL man.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
- Actually putting the whole thing together. it's a process. a giant pain in the ass one. Plus, I just had a new baby, so I've found, getting Reject done was hard. the whole thing was hard.
Is anything in your books based on real life or is it purely imagination?
- bits and peices, sure, but for the most part, it's just in our heads.
What is your favorite quote? (it's more than a quote sorry lol. hard to pick something so small)
- well, this, is from Reject. It might sound horrible of Preach, but it gets better, trust me. but this is one of my fave parts in Reject.
"Preach starts to the pull away but stops to whisper in my ear. “I told you, Daisy. You’re just like your mom.”
His cold words gut me. Nothing he said could have hurt me worse and he knows that. My brain starts to shut down as I realize that I was wrong to listen to my heart. I can’t believe I just threw it away. I tossed my virginity at a douche bag for nothing. After he pulls out, I keep quiet and sink to the floor, silently my tears fall."
Is there any traditions you have after finishing a book?
- Besides getting drunk? nopes!
Thank you for taking time out to talk with us and we cant wait to read more work from you.
- Thank you :) loved the chat! Later bitches <3
