REVIEW:
****4 STARS****

This is Book 2 of the Dyphillum Series.

Cecily and Isaac are a dyphillum - half vampire and half witch. They now find themselves on the run from the unknown,  Isaac's brother Julian is now helping them, they all soon learn that Cecily is the 'chosen one' and Sadina the powerful witch wants her for one special reason.  Can they stop this and end Sadina once and for all ?

This is a fairly short and intriguing book.  I found this one a little hard to get into initially but once the action started I was soon captivated.  I love the romance and strength which is felt between Cecily and Isaac, and the great journey Cecily takes learning about how strong her powers are along the way.

Once again, I felt this book could've been a bit longer, in places it was just a little too short, but if you are looking for a quick entertaining read - this is definitely the series.  I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Isaac's POV

“Who is Sadina?” Cecily asked again.
“She is no one we need to be messin’ with,” Ezrah said as he gathered the dried bullets putting them into a clip belonging to his .40 cal.
“Sadina is a witch, one of the strongest alive as a matter of fact,” Julian said walking around the side of the house, “She put a curse on a pack of shifters all because her wee lil heart was broken, Lucas said she may have something to do with all of this. Little tidbit of info, she is also the creator of the Dyphillum clan, which kind of makes her untouchable.”
“Why would she be untouchable?” Cecily asked as she sat down next to Ezrah.
“All the power that we have from our witch side was given to us by Sadina, it was passed down by genetics and becomes stronger as more Dyphillum are born but will never be enough to take her on head to head,” I said as I walked over to the both of them. Julian hung back by the house, close enough to be part of the conversation but far enough to keep his eyes on the woods that surrounded us.
“So she is kind of like the mother of the clan?” Cecily cocked her head to the side looking confused.
“Your parents never told you about her?” Julian asked with one eyebrow raised in surprise.
“No, haven’t heard of her till today, what does she have to do with the possession of the elders?” She was looking at the ground, I could feel she was embarrassed that she didn’t know any of this.
“She is someone you don’t want to piss off and somehow the Dyphillum have done just that, this is what we need to figure out, Jules, does Lucas have more answers?” I asked taking Cecily’s hand and gently rubbing my thumb over her knuckles, just then I heard some branches crack and by the way everyone’s heads turned, so did they.

Author Elizabeth Montgomery was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and raised a hop, skip, and a jump away in Yorktown, Virginia. Paranormal inspiration was easily obtained during her childhood in these colorful towns. This helped to spur her love of Paranormal romance stories, but she also enjoys reading YA and NA.

She is currently raising four children and a husband while elbow-deep in the depths of the writing cave. You can often find her searching on Google for an appropriate, or sometimes inappropriate, photo to insert in any random conversation. If not on Google, or Facebook chat, she can be found drinking coffee (like any normal writer), eating Gummy Bears, baking fanciful cakes, reading (of course), or writing (duh).

“I always wondered what authors meant when they said that their characters tell them what to write – I get it now!”

About Douglas Esper

Douglas Esper
It was at a very early age when I, Douglas Esper, (your friendly neighborhood author) realized I had a passion for the written word. As a youngster, I couldn't get enough books to satisfy my desire to read and to this day, I still own many books my parents got for me. In school I gravitated toward reading and writing to the point teachers grew impatient with me for writing stories in class.
The passion and drive to read and write continues to this day and my goal of feeling comfortable in my own writing skin seems within reach. I've self-published 2 picture books for kids, Sammy's Birthday Surprise and The Mystery of the Flying Tomatoes, a few short stories, and my debut novel, A Life of Inches, will be released by Limitless Publishing spring of 2015.
I live in North Ridgeville, Ohio, just west of Cleveland, with my wife, our kids, and that meddlesome dog.
I'm currently falling in love with David Fulmer books, and also enjoying the latest Les Roberts mystery novel. If I'm not reading or writing you can find me watching the Cleveland Browns losing on Sunday, writing music with my band, or observing my kids doing cute, and usually messy, stuff. Hope this helps you learn a bit about me, but now it's your turn...introduce yourself!

They say time heals all wounds.
What a load of bull. It’s been four years, and Kate’s voice still echoes in my mind.
Every. Damn. Day.
I numb her memory when it taunts me. In college, I drown her out with booze and easy lays.
I can’t do what she asked.
I can’t let her go.
Not even when Lia shows up, freaking ripping what’s left of me to shreds. Caring about someone isn’t worth the deadness that follows after they’re gone. I didn’t ask for this. Didn’t ask for her.
And I sure as hell didn’t plan to miss her when she walked out of my front door. Now, if I want to keep her, I have to straighten myself out and earn her. I can’t screw this up.
Because if I do, I’ll lose more than just Lia.

I’ll lose my life…

REVIEW:
*****5 STARS****

Phenomenal book that really gives you a sense of the real life these two characters could have.
Secrets, lies,a love that's brewed from tragedy. It shows love can snatch you up at the worst possible time and spit you out,it can gut you and it can be kind and it can be ugly.
I won't lie this definitely made me have an ugly cry moment or two and those are my favorite kinds they go dark and then just when you think damn I can't read anymore it's pulling at you to turn one more page because you have to see where it's leading.
Elizabeth and Damian clutched my heart from the very beginning. I love these two and I'm so happy there story ends the way it does... Everyone deserves a happy ever after don't they.

••*´¨`*•.☆•Excerpt••*´¨`*•.☆•
It takes me an hour to get to the cemetery. After Mom and Liam died, I never stepped foot here. Not until Kate convinced me to come. It had been one of her five wishes. One through three I’d done because she was with me. Because I loved her. I promised her number four, so I followed through. Number five, though?
Number five is impossible.
I come here often now—day, night, whenever I need to be close to her. Even in death, Kate draws me in. To this place where she’d only trodden once when she was alive.
I grab the three bouquets of flowers from the passenger seat and swing the door open. When Kate brought me here four years ago, I barely managed to get out of the car. Now it’s easy.
Too fucking easy.
I don’t even think about coming anymore. It’s automatic. Routine, like my nightly shots of whiskey.
It shouldn’t be like this. In three short years I lost the three people I loved most. Death sucks, and I’ve had my fill.
I slam the door closed and tread over the grass. The three identical stones jut up from the ground, and even when I’m here after dark, I don’t have a problem seeing them. They’re etched into my memory.
The idea to have Kate buried here beside my mother and brother was entirely mine and entirely selfish. The Browdys had asked me to help with her funeral arrangements, and other than the time of the graveside service, this had been my only request. This way she’d be close to me.
Shade from the elder tree casts a shadow over them. I stand inside its cover from the sun, facing the cold memorials. These pieces of granite have no real connection with the people they were.
Hell, they didn’t even pick them out. Didn’t see them, yet their names, dates of birth and death are etched into them as if they’d been owned by those they claim to represent.
Cemeteries—these stones—aren’t for the dead.
No, they’re for the living.
My gaze trails over the Celtic symbols engraved at the center of each one. Identical to the tattoos inked into my body. Faith. Brotherhood. Hope.
My eyes linger on Kate’s as they usually do, and the memory of when I’d given her the trinity heart necklace pours over me.
“It’s the Celtic symbol for hope. Now you’ll always know where to find it,” I’d told her.
Damn. I’d given it to her so she’d think of me whenever she needed me, but really, it was I who needed her.
I take a deep breath to hold myself together. I lost everything the day Kate died.
I rake a hand through my hair and shut my eyes. Out here, away from everyone, I don’t have to pretend that I have a fucking clue how to live without her.
Out here, it’s just me.
In front of Kate’s gravestone, I lower myself to the ground, dropping the flowers at my side. My chest is empty, yet somehow, it hurts. It’s the same damn thing year after year—aching to see her smile at me just one more time. One more and I’d be satisfied, I tell myself.
I know it’s a lie because one more smile from her would never be enough. I need to touch her, run my fingers over her warm skin and protect the hell out of her.
But I’m a failure. I had the power within me, in my blood, to save her, and I failed.
I can barely see the inches in front of me as I break down. Four years ago, my father sat here with me and told me the pain would never go away, but it would lessen over time.
What a load of bullshit; the pain has only grown.
“I miss you so damn much, Katie,” I say even though she can’t hear me. And that thought kicks me in the gut as much as anything. No matter what I say to her now, she’ll never know any of it.
I slide my fingertips over her name: Kathryn “Katie” Browdy. Seventeen short years on this earth and I only had her last months. They were the best months of my life.
I sit with her until the sun begins to send streaks of gold over the horizon. Even though Kate would be disappointed, I need to pick up more liquor before I head home. I have to have something to get me through this pain.
A gust of wind rustles the dead flowers I left on their graves last week. I scoop them up and replace them with the fresh ones I brought. Daisies for my mother, some generic flowers he wouldn’t give a shit about for Liam, and red roses for Kate.
Always red roses for my Katie.
“Love you, Mom,” I murmur, fanning out the daisies in the vase beside her headstone.
Then I move onto Liam’s. “Take care of my girl, man,” I tell him, then I remember how I’d taken care of his. “But if you touch her, I’ll fucking kill you.”
I squat down and lay Kate’s roses at the base of her stone. There’s nothing I could say to her that I haven’t already said a million times. So I settle for the words I couldn’t say until just before she died. “I love you, baby. I’ll always love you.”

Since I was born and raised in Iowa, I like to create stories where my home state is the setting. There's nothing like small-town Midwest scenery to create the perfect backdrop for an amazing tale!

I've always loved to read and write. I'll read anything: Classics, fantasy, contemporary, mystery, horror. It doesn't matter as long as it draws me in. As a kid, I was raised on authors such as Lurlene McDaniel, R.L. Stine, Danielle Steele, Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King, and Shakespeare.

Writing-wise, my fondness lies in the YA/NA genre, though I do have a couple of women's fiction stories swimming around in my head.

When not writing, I'm usually curled up with a book, scrapbooking, or doing yet another load of laundry.

Along with my incredible husband, I live in small-town Iowa with my four adorable (yet ornery) children and our dog, Peaches.

REVIEW STOP: Behind The Lens by Heather Dahlgren

Behind the Lens
Book One of The Sexy Series
By, Author Heather Dahlgren
Release Date: April 24, 2015

**WARNING** Excessive sexy behavior by hot, muscular, tattooed models. Not to be held responsible for screen licking, sweating, or orgasmic tendencies. A fan and cold glass of wine are recommended.

Synopsis: The only thing Kallie Gregory ever wanted to do was take photos. She’s been doing it for as long as she can remember. Having succeeded in becoming an up and coming photographer, she is living her dream daily. She’s not willing to risk anything to ruin what she’s built.

Jax Burke has been living his dream. He’s one of the most sought after male models with his sexy look, muscular body and brilliant tattoos that are becoming increasingly more recognizable. He has no problem getting anything that he wants, including the ladies.

When Kallie and Jax meet there’s an instant connection. They become fast friends and spend the majority of their time together, both realizing how much they have in common with their dreams and goals. The closer they get to each other, the stronger their attraction becomes.

Only problem is, Jax is willing to risk it all for a chance at love, but Kallie is not.

Is it possible for Jax to convince Kallie to see what is behind the lens?

EXCERPT:
“It was one hell of a shoot today.”  I close the door and lean on it, copying his position.
“Thank you.  I couldn’t have been happier with the way things went.”  I look at him and he smiles.  “Well, minus the Melanie incident.  Again, I’m so sorry about that.  Nothing like that has ever happened with any of my models before.  I hope that doesn’t deter you from working with me in the future.”  He laughs, and I find myself joining him.
“Kallie, believe me, a little cock grabbing isn’t going to keep me from working with you.  I am looking forward to the next time.  You are definitely one of the most intriguing photographers I’ve ever worked with.”  The compliment feels amazing, especially coming from him.  He’s worked with some of the biggest photographers I know.
“This is my life, everything I’ve ever wanted.  So when you say something like that, it truly is a huge compliment.  Thank you.”  He is searching my face, for what, I have no idea.  I blink and look away though because it’s feeling too intimate.  “I really need to get going.  I have plans tomorrow, so I need to get these photos uploaded tonight.”  He pushes off the Jeep and stands in front of me.  Not as close as earlier, but too close none the less.
“What plans do you have tomorrow?  Dinner with your boyfriend?”  I can’t help but burst out laughing.  It catches me completely off guard.  He rises his eyebrows and gives me that smirk.
“Shit I’m sorry.  No, no dinner plans with the boyfriend.  No boyfriend.  I have a shoot with my brother and his family.”  He becomes completely serious, searching my face again.  I really wish he’d stop doing that shit.
“Why is it so funny that I’d ask if you have a boyfriend?”  I straighten my back and clear my throat, feeling like I need to defend myself.
“You’re a nosy little shit.  If you must know, most guys are jealous, insecure pricks that can’t handle what I do for a living.  What I do is so much more important than a relationship anyway.  I really need to get home Jax.  Thank you for helping with my bag and for being part of this today.”  I open my Jeep door, and he puts his arm against the truck, trapping me in place.  I have my back turned to him, and I’ve no intention of turning around.  I feel him move closer and my heart pounds in my chest.
“You just haven’t found the right guy, that’s all.  Good night Kallie.”  He doesn’t say another word, and I hear his feet crunching on the rocks as he makes his way to his car.  I never once turn around.  I climb into the truck and slam the door.  I the only sound is my heavy breathing and the frantic beating of my heart.

My Review:

*****5 HOT MALE MODEL STARS*****

WOW, Holy hotness male tattooed models..mmmmm need I say more.

Kellie has dreamed of being a photographer since she could remember, with only one rule in life ‘do not get involved with the models’. No one was worth risking her business for, her career was everything to her. She had worked with top models, both male and female, but none ever caught her attraction like Jax.
Jax has an instant attraction to Kellie before he even knows who she is when he sees her out one night. From the get go, Kellie was very clear that nothing would ever happen between them, friendship was all she would offer. Jax could have anyone he wanted, but all he saw was Kellie.
The story of Jax and Kellie is beautifully written, with great secondary characters, that left me laughing and lots of smiles, I swear people looked at me funny).
Highly recommended to anyone wanting a great read that the cannot put down.

Looking forward to reading about Blake….. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
